Key blank machines perform back-rounding, tip chamfering, and keyway milling either as a singular function or in any combination. A magazine stacker or a vibratory feeder bowl with hopper automatically feeds the key blanks.

Key blanks are automatically transferred from station to station until all milling features are completed. At the end of each cycle, the finished keys are unloaded onto a chute. Tooling can be exchanged to accommodate a variety of key shapes and profiles.

This machine is for the key blank. It will do the key front tip milling, back rounding and the keyway milling. Elevator (if required), bowl feeder and linear transfer will constitute the auto feeding system to load the key blank to the working area. The clamp will transfer the key to the back rounding station. The station will do the back rounding with a broach on the 1st narrow face of the key. Then the clamp within the key rotates 180 degree to the 2nd narrow face. The same station will do the same work on this 2nd narrow face.

Then another clamp will hold the key and move to the front milling station. After milling the 1st face of the key front tip, the clamp will hold the key 180 degrees rotating to the 2nd face. The front milling station will work on the 2nd face of the key. Then the finished keys will be transferred to the keyway milling station (M100). The key will have the keyways on both sides of the key at the same time.
